Soccerfest 2012

Russ F. - Monday, August 13, 2012

This year's Soccerfest was the hottest event so far this season! (For more pictures checkout the Photo Gallery page.) Six-hundred smiling faces showed up to have their pictures taken by Shooting Star photography. We had our Soccerfest shirts (pictured left) designed with the incorporation of the Olympic Rings to get into the right competitive spirit (nice Steve!). Our 2011 Coach of the Year award went to Stephanie Moe who helped with the Opening Kick to start the 2012 season. She received her Coach of the Year plaque from president Bryan McDowell and VP Angie Lopez. The Strawberry Strikers and Pirates joined in our u6 & u8 parade carrying their respective banners with pride. We were lucky enough to have a visit from the Amazing Albert who made balloons into dazzling pieces of art, showed off some magic and gave the kids a whole lot to smile about even in the 100 degree weather. The Elks Soccer Shoot out was a hit and had the players showing off their mad soccer skills. Galt's own u19 Rebels competitive team (pictured right) provided food and fun as a way to raise money while Gicgraphicwear made custom T-shirts with the players names on them. We also wanted to give a big thank you to the Young Marine Cobras for providing color guard and bounce house security! You guys rock! See you all next year!

County Line's 2012 Soccer Clinic

Russ F. - Monday, June 04, 2012

Just in case you missed it, County Line's 2012 Soccer Clinic turned out to be a smashing success. Coaches from the Challenger Sports British Soccer camp came out to Veteran's field on Wednesday, May 30th to play some soccer, teach, and have fun! Twenty lucky County Line Soccer players from toddlers to teens all had a chance to run around, play mini-games, complete drills, and practice, practice, practice. Clinics and camps are a great way to help aspiring soccer stars reach their goal of becoming the best they can be.  Not to mention, there's a lot of fun to be had hanging out on the field, meeting new friends, and learning a few new tricks to take into the game. County Line Youth Soccer League would like to thank those who participated and encourages anyone to drop by a camp, check it out, and sign-up. Don't worry if you missed out on this clinic either, there will be another Soccer Camp held on July 20th at the new Walker Park in town.
